Instructions to Authors Smile is a scientific journal for the latest developments in Dentistry. We will be publishing experimental papers and/or those dealing with clinical methods, chiefly in the fields of Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics and Periodontics. Original papers in other fields of Dentistry will be considered, provided they contain information that are closely related to the above disciplines. We will also consider short communications reporting the practical solution of clinical cases of particular interest. Original papers
Manuscripts must be processed in Write (or Word Pad) or Microsoft Word. Papers, which will be accepted on the decision of a referee, must comprise the following sections:
Papers bearing the name of an institution must be signed by the Director of the Institution. References For more than one paper by the same authors, the list should be in chronological order of publication. Each reference must include, in this order: surname of the authors followed by his/her initial(s), title of paper, name of the journal (using the standard abbreviations as in Index Medicus), year of publication, volume and page number. Books: list surname of the authors followed by initial, original title of book, where it was published, name of publisher, year of publication, first and last page numbers of reference. Chapters of books: list, in this order: authors of the chapter, authors of the book, original title of the book, where it was published, name of publisher, year of publication, number of volume and first and last page of the chapter referred to. Papers or communications to congresses: indicate names of authors, title of lecture or communication, name of congress, city and year in which it was held.. If the proceedings have been published, this must be stated, specifying whether in the form of abstracts or full-length texts. Illustrations Illustrations inserted in the text of the paper must be saved in a format that is as compact as possible compatibly with the necessary quality (formats *.gif or *.jpg are recommended). The same illustrations may be sent in a high definition format and will be stored in a separate database from which readers will be able to access them. Tables Changes Short communications They need not be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, etc., like the original papers, but must have a summary. Papers are published under the sole responsibility of the authors.
